True rest is a function of trust. When we believe that God is on watch, we can lie down without dread. The word 'only' in this verse is significant — it is the LORD alone who makes us truly safe. Nothing else can give this rest.
Before sleep tonight, write down one thing you have been lying awake thinking about. Hand it verbally to God. Then close the notebook and choose to rest.
